Boy forcibly made to undergo sex-change surgery when he was 13, gangraped in Delhi: DCW

In a horrifying incident, a 17-year-old boy was allegedly forced to undergo a sex-change operation around four years ago and repeatedly raped by a group of men in Geeta Colony area here, according to a statement issued by Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Friday.

victim, Shubham (name changed), met accused at a dance event around four years ago. accused took him to Mandawali on pretext of teaching him dance skills and getting him work, statement said.

Initially, he participated in some events and was also paid some money, but after some time, accused started pressuring him and told him that he cannot go back home and will have to stay with m at Mandawali, it ded.

victim was allegedly intoxicated and brutally beaten up. After a few days, he was forced to undergo a sex-change operation. At that time, he was only 13 years old. He said he was given hormones to make him look like a girl, it ded.

He was threatened that if he tells anything to police or his family, he and his mor will be killed. victim used to secretly meet his mor when he was sent to buy groceries. Shubham said accused h guns and or weapons too, according to statement.

After a few months, anor person known to him was brought at Mandawali. He was also subjected to sexual and physical abuse. y were planning to get him operated upon too, statement said.

During lockdown in March last year, both victims managed to flee and went to meet Shubham's mor. She arranged a rented accommodation for m, but accused found ir location in December. Both of m were brutally beaten up and all ir belongings were snatched away. accused again took m to Mandawali and raped m, according to statement.

y managed to escape again and reached New Delhi railway station. A lawyer found m at station and brought m to DCW office at ITO, statement said.

DCW took immediate cognisance of matter and got an FIR registered in matter. Police have arrested two accused so far.

According to a senior police officer, a case was registered under relevant sections of law in December last year and two of accused have been arrested.

DCW chief Swati Maliwal said, "This incident is absolutely shocking and scary. A small boy was forcibly operated and raped by several men. Luckily, victims were able to escape and got saved. We are now working on rehabilitation of victims. Police need to arrest all accused as soon as possible and all of m should be given strongest punishment."
