Here's PM Modi's tweet hailing India's massive victory over Masood Azhar's UN listing as a global terrorist

After listing Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist under the  Sanctions Committee of the UN Nations Security Council, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet acknowledged the global support that India garnered.

After listing Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist under the  Sanctions Committee of the UN Nations Security Council, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet acknowledged the global support that India garnered. 

Reiterating BJP's stand on their fight against terrorism, Prime Minister Modi announced how India achieved what it had been trying for a while.

He said, "It is reported from the United Nations that the notorious terrorist, Masood Azhar, has been banned. Today it is satisying to see the world is in accordance. This is a major breakthrough in the struggle against terrorism and the long-standing efforts India has been making to uproot terrorism." 

In the tweet PM Modi said that "today is the day that would make every Indian proud"

He further expressed hos gratitude to the global community who believed in 'humanitarian values', moreover added that the country's fight against terrorism would continue.

The proposal was moved by United States, Britain and France, but was put on a 'technical hold' only by China in the 15-member UN Security Council committee earlier. 

The founder of the terror outfit perpetrated the Pulwama terror attack that martyred 40 CRPF Jawans, following which India received massive global support, of countries like Russia, United States, United Kingdom, Israel, France and more.

China said on Tuesday that the vexed issue of designating Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist by the UN will be "properly resolved" but it did not give any timeline, days after Chinese President Xi Jinping met Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan here.

China put a technical hold in March on a fresh proposal to impose a ban on the head of Pakistan-based JeM, it was for the fourth time that China blocked Azhar's listing as a global terrorist by the UN.
