UP: Woman and Newborn Die During C-Section, Family Accuses Doctor of Negligence

Sultanpur: A woman and her newborn died on Saturday after doctors at a private hospital performed a cesarean surgery without her husband's consent. family of deceased n protested at hospital, police said.

Yashoda (35), wife of Santram Pasi, was brought to a private hospital in city by her family on Saturday after she began experiencing labor pains, police said.

Santram claimed that doctors sent him to arrange for blood and proceeded with surgery on his wife without his consent, a police official said.

husband claimed mor and child died during operation but doctors did t inform m about it and referred her to ar hospital, saying her condition was serious, official said.

In complaint to police, family alleged that when an ambulance was called and preparations were being me to make pregnant woman sit, y realised both woman and her newborn h died, said Dheeraj Kumar, SHO of Baldirai police station.

family members created a ruckus at hospital during which hospital owner and doctor fled, police officer said.

bodies have been sent for post-mortem and legal action has been initiated in matter, he ded.
