Though Paulo Dybala is among the most gifted football players in Argentina, he has failed to wow Lionel Scaloni, the national team coach. According to many media sources and fan speculation, Dybala finds it difficult to gain favour of both Scaloni and Lionel Messi. Critics contend that he may not be able to live up to the high standards needed for a star-studded Argentina squad, which lately has had notable success with one World Cup and two Copa America trophies in the previous four years.

Martínez was suspended by FIFA for the last two qualifiers for “offensive behavior” in two previous matches in September, but he will be available for the match at Paraguay on Nov. 14 and the home game against Peru five days later.

Argentina leads South American World Cup qualifying with 22 points from 10 matches. The top six teams will get direct spots at the 2026 tournament.
