Two US citizens killed in Donbas region amid Russia-Ukraine war, says State Department

Nearly a month after two US citizens were killed in the Russia-Ukraine war, a State Department spokesperson confirmed two more casualties in the disputed region

Nearly a month after two US citizens were killed in Russia-Ukraine war, a State Department spokesperson confirmed two more casualties in disputed region of war-torn country. According to a report by ABC News, spokesperson told about death of two American citizens in Donbass region. As of now, official believed that duo h been fighting against Russian troops in Ukraine. "We can confirm recent deaths of two US citizens in Donbas region of Ukraine," spokesperson told brocast.

Furr, spokesperson maintained that Biden ministration has been in touch with families and assured m of providing all possible consular assistance. However, when American brocaster asked for furr details about duo killed in war, official reportedly denied revealing ditional information related to identity. Earlier in April, Willy Joseph Cancel, a 22-year-old former Marine from Tennessee was first American citizen who was killed while fighting in Ukraine. Subsequently, Stephen Zabielski, 52, died on May 15 while participating in combat, according to an obituary published in  Recorder-- a newspaper representing Montgomery County in Upstate New York.

Russia-Ukraine war

It is to mention Russia initiated a full-fledged war against Ukraine nearly two days after Vlimir Putin signed a decree recognising independence of breakaway regions Donetsk and Luhansk. Putin's action came despite West's repetitive warning and speculations about his ill intention to inve Ukraine. On February 24, Russian troops started a military operation against Ukraine. Since n, it has been bombarding several cities in Ukraine, resulting in killing of thousands of civilians.
