Shramik Special trains row: Piyush Goyal lambasts MVA govt, advises against petty politics
Railways Minister Piyush Goyal lashed out at the Maharashtra government for not giving the list of migrant workers so that 125 trains could be operated.

war of words between Centre and Maharashtra government escalated on Monday after Railways Minister Piyush Goyal lashed out at latter for t giving list of migrant workers so that 125 Shramik Special trains could be operated from state to ferry m back to ir native places. He recalled that 65 trains h to be cancelled in last few days because state government failed to make equate preparations such as bringing passengers to railway station.
Citing example of UP CM Yogi ityanath and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for allowing entry of migrant workers into state, he hailed it as a symbol of "true leership". Maintaining that BJP as an opposition party h supported ruling government in crisis situations, he urged present-day opposition to avoid petty politics. Goyal also slammed that Maharashtra government for its criticism of Centre's ecomic pack worth over Rs.20 lakh crore.

dressing people of state on May 24, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray contended that Centre did t take any steps initially when Maha Vikas Aghi government h requested arrangements for return of migrant workers to ir native places. According to him, action was taken only when situation got worse. Revealing that he h sought 80 trains daily for migrant workers, Thackeray alleged that only 50% of trains were being permitted. After Goyal appealed to Maharashtra CM to immediately send a list of passengers with ir destination details for operation of 125 Shramik Special trains on May 25, Sena MP Sanjay Raut claimed that state government h followed suit. However, Railways Minister said that details pertaining to only 46 trains h been shared as of 2 am on Monday out of which 5 couldn't be operated because of Cyclone Amphan.
